# 1 and the hottest local restaurant located in downtown Camden is iSalud! Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Lounge, 1011 Broad Street.  Each entree, sauce, dip is made fresh…there is something for everyone on the menu.  Patrons are raving about their fresh salads and homemade specialties.  The finest tequila bar east of the Mississippi:  over 200 tequilas are sold on-site and all drinks are handcrafted.  In addition to the large, open dining area, the upstairs lounge area offers comfortable seating.  From the lighting to the fountain, from the seating to the meal, this is the finest Mexican Kitchen in the area. Mill Pond Steakhouse

The Mill Pond Steakhouse is the only fine dining steakhouse in the midlands — located on the 10th largest privately owned lake and nature preserve in South Carolina.  They offer the best Certified Angus Beef that is aged for 40 plus days. They host a superb wine list.   The very rustic buildings take you to a time past. The restaurant is composed of three historic buildings established in the early 19th century. The kitchen was the old Post Office, the bar was the old General Store and the main dining room was another General Store relocated to its present location.  Mill Pond Steakhouse offers rustic elegance with southern hospitality and a one of a kind dining experience.  You might even see the local alligators.  Located nine miles south of town at 84 Mill Pond Road in Boykin, SC.  Reservations recommended.  Dinner Tuesday – Saturday.  803.425.8825


Located 11 miles south of Bloomsbury at 11 Main Street (US 521), Rembert, SC. Signature appetizers include fried mushrooms or mussels in curry sauce at Lilfred’s restaurant.  Beef and seafood are mainstays of the menu.  You will also find oysters, shrimp and scallops on the menu.  Usually, Lilfred’s offers tables for one sitting per dinner evening making for a very leisurely time.  Reservations are recommended at this restaurant. Sam Kendall’s

Upscale, yet cozy, Sam Kendall’s delivers classic and contemporary American food in its restored 1880’s building. Only a mile away from Bloomsbury and built in the center of Camden.  Sam Kendall’s features USDA choice steaks, seafood and a variety of house specialties with daily features including lamb, veal and specially prepared seafood. It also provides a full service bar including Kershaw county’s largest wine selection. Sam Kendall’s is a “can’t miss” if you are dining in Camden. Fatz Southern Kitchen

Fatz is a South Carolina tradition.  It was opened in 1989 in a converted peach shed in Spartanburg. Blackmon’s Little Midget

Little Midget is a family-owned restaurant that has stood the test of time.  Open for over 50 years, it has great hamburgers, hot dogs, wings and sandwiches at 1012 Market Street.  The staff is all smiles and you need to try the hamburger all the way.  A South Carolina style hamburger, and if you like, make it a double.  A Camden tradition–you will have gone local when you eat at the Little Midget.  Try it for lunch.  Monday – Saturday.   803.432.3011  Blackmon’s

Laura’s Tea Room

Laura’s Tea Room is located in the restored general merchandise store of I.C. Thomas Company.  Go to Ridgeway, S.C (only 24 miles from Bloomsbury) and enjoy Laura’s Tea Room.  Have a light lunch Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 2:00 p.m in the deli.  Their lunches include delicious sandwiches, salads and a wonderful side.  All lunches include a cup of hot tea or a glass of refreshing ice tea of the day in the deli.  The full high tea menu is served on beautiful china dishes, you can sit upstairs overlooking Ridgeway.  If you are not a tea drinker,  Laura’s Tea Room also has a coffee shop.  Sit at their large community table and read the orders that were found in a desk drawer in the store from 1886 to 1889.   803-337-8594

Old McCaskill’s Farm

Friday Lunch Only! Located just a few short miles South of Camden, Old McCaskill’s Farm offers so much: tours, B&B, event venues, special events and lunch on Friday. The lunch is focused on farm-to-table practices…lamb, pork, beef, chicken, fresh vegetables and fruits.
